“Idle Time,” acrylic, 9” x 9”, 2011. My absolute favorite album art, for The All-About’s April EP… I originally came up with the design for an assignment, but the piece didn’t really work out quite as I’d hoped. I still felt obligated to do the image justice somehow, however - and upon hearing demos for The All-About’s last EP of the year, I decided the old image could be a perfect fit if slightly reworked. Befitting of an album largely about saying “a proper goodbye” and setting “old ghosts free,” I saw potential to create something that could be strikingly effecting and even haunting, if done just right. -CR
